Services
The assistance and support I provide is designed to be bespoke to client needs and requirements. Contracts will come under three general areas. These demand different approaches and result in different outcomes. The Services come under the headings of Mentoring, Consulting and Training. There is some crossover, so if you are unsure, just ask.
Mentoring
This is one-to-one personal support of, for example, Senior Management, Board Members or staff. It is designed to focus in on and help develop personal and professional skills and confidence within the context of their work. It is very much along the lines of coaching in respect of focusing on particular issues or elements important to that individual in their work and the objective is to listen to that person and draw out strengths and areas to focus on and develop.
Sessions tend to be in blocks of one hour or two hours. These are focused sessions and are often agreed as a series of, perhaps, six or so to begin with (perhaps once a week to keep up the momentum). At the end of the sessions, they are reviewed and a decision is made whether to carry them on or pick things up later. The pause is sometimes useful to allow actions to be put into place and then properly reviewed.
Consulting
Consulting can take a number of forms. It is wider than individual coaching; although there can be a very logical connection to it. Although it can be with one individual, perhaps the CEO or a Senior Manager, it is more about specific technical areas or development. Areas might include, for example, the organisation’s strategic direction, funding, operation or technical requirements. It may also include a number of people and be in the form of workshops or other iterative formats which include a range of people. Consulting services are bespoke to developing and supporting your organisation.
These contracts will tend to be across a longer and more focused period of time and may include the use an development of tools and techniques to help. Depending on the issue, they may be over a number of days or weeks and costed either on a daily rate or contract price. The best way will be discussed and agreed prior to starting.
Training
Training is, most often, for wider groups of people and provides learning information on a particular subject.
Around a customer-defined brief, delivery of impactful training can be to large or small groups. Areas include developing options and strategy, operations, funding and organisational capacity.
Although training is the least interactive and personal, Mark’s style is engaging, positive and informative. A significant amount of interaction is also included in all sessions as this promotes the learning process and accounts for different learning styles in any situation.
Both online and face to face training is available; although face-to-face tends towards a more satisfactory outcome overall.
